Worst you have ever been in terms of illness? (Today's morbid thread)
Following on from the NHS thread what is the worst you have ever been in terms of being ill? Have you ever come close to death? Have you ever been so ill you felt you were about to die?

Twice for me.

2001- kidney stones. Waves of extreme pain in stomach and knob when I pissed, traces of blood, literally rolling on floor sweating. Managed to pass the stone/crystals after 2 days but thought my time was up - how I did not pass out I do not know

2009 - simple tooth abcess. Dentist, antibiotics, pain got worse and wasn't clearing up. A few days later swelling all over my face, eye closing, extreme pain and swelling and sickness. Rushed to A&E - admitted that night on IV antibiotics, next morning surger under GA to remove abcess and tooth. Surgeon said 1-2 days later I would have lost my eye and also probably had a brain injury/damage if it went up further.

You cunts?

They had to go there twice too - once to the lasering and insert a stent (when I was under a general anaesthetic), and once a week later to remove said stent - when I was not under an anaesthetic.

I've never known pain like that week, my body rejected stent, so spent the week feeling like I was trying to piss out a plastic hose

I’m surprised that no one has pulled Brentford up on suggesting that having a fever is similar to ‘taking LCD’.

Had a catheter for a long time, when the 'Trainee' nurse took it out, she didn't let the bubble down.

Pulled my cock below my knees, as I shouted out in pain and grabbed her hair.
She was kneeling down trying to get purchase.

Eventually it came out with a load of blood, she spotted the bubble and said something foreign.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I reckon I'd pay a nifty to have it done again though.

Disc op,
they gave me septicemia.
6 weeks High dependency care ward, more ops to get the pus out, died 3 times, 2 years of pick lines and chemo drugs (29 a day).
I only had a bad back.

Re: Worst you have ever been in terms of illness? (Today's morbid thread)
As anyone that knows me will know I have had quite a few illnesses of late. Worse one has to be when they found a blockage in an artery in my Scrotum had my sack cut open and the artery bypassed. On top of that I had both of my nuts cut open to have a couple lumps removed, they then removed another lump from a Urethral Valve which involved putting a laser up my old chap. Needless to say I walked like a Cowboy for a few months. However much I tried I could not keep the swelling up.
Been a fair few years now and is a very slow recovery

Injury wise broke my wrist several times , my ankle and snapped all my knee ligaments on my right leg in 1 go. 7 ops later it's fixed but still hurts on a regular basis.

Loads more injuries, but knee was the worst

Had bollock cancer too but aside from a complication after my op where my ball bag bled for a month, didn't have any real effect on my day to day life.

Gastroenteritis
Bird flu
Swine flu
Noro virus

Had them all.

None were what I'd describe as fun. I cleared 7 litres of vomit with the norovurus in 1 night. Whilst leaking from the other end.

Quinsies, that was my party. Everytime I swallowed it was like having screwdrivers jammed through the ears. Intense pain and massive temperature too. Throat almost closed, staggered into 14th st clinic to be asked if I had Ebola. I couldn't talk, murder it was, was also informed that any longer it could have been it. Throat was drained. Worst ever.

Heart attack at 29. That was shit.

Broke my collarbone and dislocated my shoulder at the same time. That was really shit.

Had kidney stones that got stuck and had to be lasered out. To do that they went in through my old chap. That was really, really shit

Like Hammer 205 - Adult chicken pox. 4 days of hell until the fever broke. Though in comparison to a few stories on here, a walk in the park. I was diagnosed with MS about ten years ago but thankfully I've remained pretty unaffected.

During January 2016 I was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma on my foot, cancerous cells had also travelled into the lymph nodes in my groin. I had three operations and four week long stays in hospital (the last being due to catching an infection, which was the worst.)

Ultimately, they cut a third away from my heel and I had 13 lymph nodes removed, resulting in permanent lymphodoema, but I count myself as being very lucky. My only gripe is that it has set me back on my away points 😉

Cough - you are wasted here chap, blinding work

Troy
Sympathies mate - been down a similar path, stay strong

And yeah, recovering from sepsis and subsequent septic shock, they reckon a kidney stone dispersing triggered it by way of infection in the right bollock - not pleasant in the extreme and max 3 hours from buying the farm. I won't bore you with the specifics but urge you all to read up and be aware

I am arsehole lucky, make sure you are too
